ILF partner Oleksiy Kharytonov attended the fifth CIS Local Counsel Forum, which took place on June 23-25, 2010 in Minsk. Traditionally, the Forum brought together managers and partners of the leading law firms in the CIS region and those of international law firms to exchange professional experience and explore opportunities for new joint projects.
This year at the sessions of the Forum the following issues were discussed: IPO placement on the Asian stock exchanges, advantages of employing corporate and external counsels, latest trends in legal marketing, corporate restructuring and investment attraction, as well as commercial dispute resolution. The participants also got an opportunity to communicate in an informal setting and to establish or strengthen business contacts with colleagues.
The CIS Local Counsel Forum is held since 2006 in the capitals of the region. The main goal of the event is to enhance international cooperation of law firms and to establish a large-scale professional community of leading lawyers from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan.
